2022 – BACK TO THE 7th EDITION OF THE RALLYE ENTRE 2 MERS

7th Rally Entre 2 Mers
from 3 to 7 October 2022

RETOUR SUR LA 7ème EDITION DU RALLYE ENTRE 2 MERS : LES BAUX – MONACO

Monday, October 3, the day before the start of the 7th edition of the Rally Entre 2 Mers, the participants had an appointment, at the Domaine de Manville in Les Baux de Provence, for the traditional day of administrative and technical checks before covering the four stages, 1200km and especially the 3 circuits which were to be faced during this week of rally between Les Baux de Provence and Monaco.

It was under a radiant sun that the competitors set off for the first loop stage around Les Baux de Provence, the Circuit de Ledenon was the first meeting place for the crews and their experienced drivers, eager to do battle in this regularity test against the clock where everyone was free to ride at their own pace. The route then joined Mont Bouquet, one of the peaks of Provence with a view of Mont Ventoux, for a passage control and the now traditional quizzes counting for the general classification of the event, before returning to the Rhone Valley and finish this first step for a deserved rest.

For the second, unprecedented stage, we had to head due east, towards the Lubéron then the Massif des Maures to reach Cassis and its creeks. Just after the lunch break established on the shores of Lac de Carcés, the quick route of the Circuit du Luc was proposed at the time of digestion. Judging by the playful faces of our pilots as they descended from the cars, everyone took great pleasure in it. The azure blue of the Mediterranean was approaching when walking along the ridge road which ended this stage on the beach of Bestouan de Cassis, at the hotel “Roches Blanches”.

From Cassis, the third stage, which was also the shortest of the rally, took the direction of the North, to cross the Massif de la Sainte-Beaume then the Montagne Sainte-Victoire not far from Aix en Provence. The Grand Sambuc domain welcomed us for the lunch planned before the afternoon driving sessions, disputed on this demanding course due to its variety of turns, often blind and its long straight line of 800m. you then had to reach the Relais et Château de la Coquillade, bathed in the reliefs and natural beauty of the Lubéron regional park.

For the last stage, no circuit on the program but a route giving way to the places frequented by one of the biggest rallies in the world: the Monte-Carlo. These places inevitably resonate in the memories of rally aficionados when reaching the Gorges du Verdon and its turquoise colors on the way to lunch at the Auberge du Point Sublime. The highlight of this final day, the impressive clues of Riolan where the trajectories of the greatest rallymen were once drawn, before the Mediterranean is discovered as far as the eye can see when reaching the Principality of Monaco, at the end of this 2022 vintage of the Rallye Entre 2 Mers.

While the fight for the general classification will have raged throughout the week, the final victory of the event went to the Swiss team RABILLER / KAPPELI on their Ferrari 812 Superfast in the Prestige category, while this 7th edition once again devoted the French duo HORN / HEBERT, at the wheel of their Alfa Romeo Coupé Bertone, who signed a fourth consecutive victory here!

Appointment is made for 2023 and the 8th edition which this time will link Saint-Emilion to Saint-Tropez.
