Back on the 4th ENTRE 2 MERS RALLY

Monday, October 7, 2019, eve of departure for the 4th Rally Between 2 Seas, was held the traditional day of checks in San Sebastian to parry the cars and crews of the colors of the rally, before facing 4 stages, 1200km and two circuits of this edition which took place mainly in Spain.

Under a bright sun, the course has escaped from the famous bay of La Concha for a warm up of the machines and crews before going on with the stopwatch on the circuit of Navarra and its hilly course offering many turns, both blind and sloping, which allowed everyone to enjoy driving, before joining Pamplona, famous for its festivals where bulls are thrown into the streets of the old town.

> The CLOUZEAU / CLOUZEAU crew, winners 2018, honored the number 1 glued on the doors of their Porsche 911 Carrera RS by taking orders in the Classic category; while GHIO / GHIO led the Prestige category at the wheel of their Morgan V6 Roadster.

The next day, it is under a cloudy sky towards French Basque Country and the road to Compostela where regularity events were organized proposing an alternative challenge to the circuits. After the famous cep omelet tasted in the heart of Iraty forest, it remained to climb some giants of the Pyrenees as the Marie Blanque and the Pourtalet passes where the sun suddenly appeared at the Spanish border. It was in Panticosa that competitors took advantage of an invigorating bowl of fresh, fresh air after a day with more than 9000 meters of elevation!

> The HORN / HEBERT crew put their very colorful Alfa-Romeo at the top of the Classic after outstanding performances in the regularity events; while the Morgan Aero 8 of BERJON / BERJON seized the “leadership” at the Prestige.

The third leg, towards Andorra, proposed a series of valleys, passes and special stages programmed in settings that became more arid and steep. These virgin urban lands led to the Val d’Aran and its famous winter sports resorts for a lunch organized in a superb Parador made of granite stones. After this gourmet stop, it was necessary to climb port of Bonaigua to join Soldeu where everyone could enjoy the Sport Hermitage & Spa, sublime chalet of blond wood.

> The classification remained unchanged at the end of this stage, but PIFAREE / VASSEUR on Porsche Carrera 3.0 went back very strong in Classic; while FICHET / FICHET took the third place at the Prestige at the wheel of their Morgan.

For the final stage leading to the Mediterranea, the Granvalira andorran “tourniquet” highlighted the dexterity of the drivers and the last podium spots were played as planned! The course, less hilly than the last three stages, did not miss turns before the lunch break established in Olot, in the heart of Catalonia. The sea was then in focus with a final piece of bravery towards the “Belle Bleue” between Tossa de Mar and the final finish on the beach of S’Agaro, not far from Cadaques, Roses and land dear to Salvador Dali.

> In the Classic class, the HORN / HEBERT crew won after three participations, while the CLOUZEAU / CLOUZEAU Porsche resisted the return of PIFAREE / VASSEUR who performed a race on “perfect” circuit and seized the third walk of the podium in-extremis.
> At the Prestige, the BERRJON / BERJON crew led their Morgan Aero 8 to victory, while BRAGEAOT / BRAGEOT and FICHET / FICHET confirmed their second and third places respectively.
