6th Rally Entre 2 Mers,
from 4 to 8 october 2021

STAGE 2 / WEDNESDAY 6th OCTOBER / PAMPELUNE – TARBES

For this second stage starting from Pamplona, the rally took the direction of the French Basque Country and join a new route around the road to Saint Jacques de Compostela and its breathtaking views, unfortunately tarnished by the gray, but which were able to reveal themselves as we progressed towards Tarbes.

A first passage check was scheduled at Arnéguy and marked the entry into the Iraty massif for a steep day in elevation! With new roads in this incredible massif and a first regularity test organized in the fog, the challenge was considerable, alternating with the circuit test which awaited the competitors in the afternoon.

After this busy morning with bends and narrow passages for a total change of scenery, the lunch set at Auberge Ahusquy promised to be a “classic” staple with the tasting of local products, each more delicious than the next.

In the afternoon, the Pau-Arnos circuit was on the program for a new driving session on this hilly and winding route, especially since the sun and the blue sky were now bright, to everyone’s happiness!

Later we found Tarbes which welcomes us for the night and a well-deserved rest before the 3rd stage, very mountainous towards Andorra!

Appointment is made tomorrow, for a stage, without circuit certainly, but which promises at the same time surprises and passages of high mountain passes!
